Your beam is probably more than 4' more than mine - my boat is pretty narrow (10' at widest place, which incidentally is not a living space at all - lockers and cockpit).

Anyway, I called around and Spring Cove marina in Solomons also charges $6/ft - which isn't all that bad I guess. Are you in Annapolis? You can definitely use Casa Rio - at $4.50 a foot (if the price hasn't gone up since last year) - they are on Rhode river, may be 2 hours away from Annapolis if motoring. Just don't let them do any work on your boat

Oops, just noticed your answer I called them and found out - well, that's where I probably will go, though I'll ask Zahnisers if they would give me a break on this job first. Makes little difference to me - I am almost as close to Spring Cove as I am to my marina's lift ramp

Brak,
My beam is 14, it was a well educated statement - I looked up the beam on your boat

Ahh, I see Sorry about assuming - should never do that Well then, I think you should fit just fine into any of those lifts for no extra cost.

It's amazing how prices differ. In the space of less than 1/2 mile 3 marinas here charge $6/ft, $8/ft and $12/ft respectively (short haul, powerwash, up to 1hr in slings). There is another marina here, which is kinda run down (but operational), I bet they charge even less but the owner is hard to track down.

The junky marina next door called back and beat'em all - $3/ft for short haul, $1.50/ft for power wash (or 0.75/ft for me to powerwash with their equipment).

Well, I've seen their lift and it looks ok, so that's my deal I guess

They are very friendly. Chef put a good word in for me with them please. I want to stor my boat there in the winters instead of Fairview Marina

Sounds like a good place. Is this the one in Pasadena, MD? When they do your wind instrument - would you mind sharing the experience? I need that done at some point (as well as a few other things on the mast) and I'd like to find a place that is decent. (My current marina does good work but is too expensive to routinely use for that sort of thing)

Cheap Short Haul Good Service

I do one or two short hauls per year. Too dam# old to go under the boat and clean the bottom. Most of the time its the metal running gear that is fouled. Barnacles love bronze props!

The guys at Old Bay Marina charge $3.50' for a quick hull.

They powerwash the bottom, wipe down the boot stripe, On & Off the brown stains on the bow, change the zinc for FREE (I provide the zinc) and they know where to put the straps on a sailboat!

Down south say at: Mert Jibberjabber's or Vanhouserhoser's, I had to pay Environmental fees, Fuel surcharge fees, hand-in-my-pocket fees - in addtion to the quickhaul fee and zinc screw-on-fee!

My mother used to say that a "fool and his money are soon parted". I am not too proud to get a good deal and good service in the low rent district!
