Richmond

Hello all,

I'm currently from Iowa but am in the process of considering a job offer in the Richmond area. I would like to bring my Catalina 320 with me. I've been looking on-line for marina's. Can anyone offer me some suggestions of where I might keep my boat.

Thanks
Jason

Yeah...Deltaville is where everyone from Richmond goes. Try this place...great folks and nice low key sailing club and a pool which IS necessary since you can't swim in most of the Chessie due to the nettles.
Stingray Point Marina
There is a boatyard right next to them where you can have the boat offloaded and dropped in. They also do good work.

Cam, wish you were here. The water still stinks at Stingray, but I'm looking forward to a summer sail up the bay this week.

No nettles yet. But we saw Dolphins in the Rappahannock a couple weeks ago!

Sorry. I assumed since this was a thread in the Chesapeake Bay forum that you would assume I was talking about Richmond Virgina.

Jaalex...you'll notice over time that you have to really spell things out s-l-o-w-l-y and clearly for I2F...

Nauti...it is a great place. Are you getting out and around a bit?

Deltaville is great but if you don't mind a 1 to 1 1/2 hour drive (all on I-64 east) take a look at the marinas in Hampton. Several to check out. Saltponds,Southhall, Bluewater, Joys. All have great access to the bay.

I just got a slip in Urbanna, which is almost a half hour closer to Richmond than Deltaville. I'm actually moving down to Richmond myself in 3 weeks! My boat is getting dropped off today in fact...
