Question Schaefer's Canal House

For those in the know...what's been happening with Schaefer's? lots of old rumors..like it was to be a Hooters..and some one tried to burn it down...

I go over the Rt 213 bridge about once a week and watch what little progress that has been going on for the past 3+ years....

Comments from from those who are in the know..

I know nothing.

Only that it isn't a Hooters.

Went by today on the canal and there's a sign out front stating there's a bar/resturant coming soon. Can't remember the name (it wasn't Hooters) and don't know how old the sign is.

Don't know anything, but have fond memories of the place. It was a sort of port of refuge for us when we first started cruising back in the 70's. In the mid-80's I saw Walter Cronkite there on his boat. Almost fell off the dock.
