Is anyone going out this weekend (Sept. 26-27)?

Just wondering. In the Annapolis area, the forecast is looking less then stellar. Winds up to 25 possibly on Saturday, and 2 inches of rain. We're still planning on going out even if we have to sit at anchor and just chill. It made me wondering if anyone else will be out on the water in this area or if most people will be skipping the rainy "fun" this weekend.

We are chilling this weekend. Going to the boat to work on her and if there is a few hour break in the window then sail the Patapsco. Staying Friday and Sat night on her.

We were in Annapolis last Sat night (see post)

Yeah, last weekend was gorgeous. We planned to go out, but unfortunately, my wife and I both had a terrible cold. We were lucky to get off the couch, nevermind out on the boat. I was so mad missing such beautiful weather. Oh well.

Tonight we're staying in. Tomorrow morning we'll see what's cooking and either head up to the Severn or maybe down to the West or Rhode River. If it's really blowing, we might just hang out on the South River and keep it simple.

I'll say this though--when I mentioned to my wife that the weather was going to be bad, she looked at me and basically said, "we're going on the boat unless there's a hurricane." She loves being out on the water. Man, she's the best.

Hope you have a good weekend, Chef...stay dry!

FWIW, we had a great couple days out on the water. The wind was much less intense than forecasted, so that helped. And though it was gray on Saturday, we sailed for several hours and enjoyed it, getting to our anchorage just before it started to rain.

OK, so it rained for like 17 hours straight. BUT we were warm and dry in the cabin, enjoying a nice cabernet and reading some books. Very relaxing.

And then today, Sunday, it was supposed to be blowing 20 from the wrong direction, and instead it was 10 and from the right direction. The sky was partly cloudy, and visibility crystal clear--easily over 10 miles--and we had a lovely sail home, doing maybe 4.5 knots average and loving every minute. It was gorgeous out there!

Not bad for a weekend that was supposed to be a washout and terribly windy.

Big high tide also.

Things got a little damp, but we ate oysters instead of sailing.

The prior weekend was a blessing!!
