I think that sailing in late October and on is more akin to stealing. You are stealing time from winter that is normally reserved for ice, high winds and snow. Yesterday WAS glorious! The wife and I were out and it was a grand time. My mother-in-law was taken ill in late August and my wife went to rural MS to be with her and help her father (86yrs). She recovered and my wife convinced them to move off the tree farm and into a condo here. So my life has changed drastically. This was the first time we were able to go sailing, just the 2 of us, since mid August. Yes, it was stealing time from winter.

painkiller will become famous soon enough
The fall series of Frostbite races in Annapolis goes through just about Christmas and there is some fantastic sailing all through. Some days are cold, heavy air days, but you still get days even in December when you can sail in your shirt sleeves or maybe just a fleece (and pants if you're bashful ). Now, the winter series that kicks off in February or March is a whole 'nother story...

I would like to brag and let you know I got 2 days wed. and sunday off last week and as an extra came home with a rockfish both days. Believe it or not I sometimes think Oct. thru Dec. are some off the best months on the Bay.
