Mike.

i belong to the Maryland yacht Club and have for the last 5 years. Great place to keep a boat. Slip fees, membership dues, chits = what most people in the area pay for slips alone. The additive value of the pool, fuel dock (discount for members, and the pump out including a portable one) is great.

Very protected basin in a blow, new docks with long fingers, and a short motor (10 minutes) to putting your sails up. Great location at the end of the Patapsco, so when it is too windy on the Bay you can sail the river. Great Location to northern and central checsapeake. Wends to Sassafras, Worton, Rock Hall , chester River, St Micheals (through the narrows), Magothy, Whitehall, Serveren, South, Rhodes and West Rivers as well as Tillman Island. All of this is great.

Only negative I have seen is the politics of the place and the old guard members. If you can avoid that you will love it. We have made many friends here and have taken fun trips and raft ups on many weekends where the sailors have improptu mini-vous. Great number of sailboats.

Feel free to PM me or get my phone number and we can talk about it if you wish.

Dave

thanks for the info, we kept our boat at white rocks marina this past season just until we got a feel for the area and did some more research on where was better than others, and buying the boat mid season made it a little difficult to find a slip. We like the location of our current marina for the amount of travel time from Pittsburgh, but the facilities at white rocks are lacking due to the fire at their bathroom/shower/laundry building
