References for repairs

Greetings! I recently purchased a Tartan 30 that needs a deck repair and I would also like to add shore power to it. Can anyone recommend a yard or individual that can do this work in the Annapolis or Baltimore area? The deck repair is a 7' x 1.5' portion of the deck needs to be recored. PMs are OK too.

Send a message via AIM to chef2sail
Go accross the bay to Haven Harbor Marina in Rock Hall. Labor there is almost $35 per hour cheaper and the people are first rate, knowledgeable, friendly and deliver on time.

Thanks guys! I think T37Chef's recommendation is the one yard I did talk to already. They seem like good people on the phone. I'll check out the Rock Hall place as well.

T37Chef... are you a member of the local Tartan group?

Nitefly,
On your 1976 T 30 you may want to check out your chain plates as well as your soft deck coring. I am not sure if Tartan did the T30 chain plates in the same manner as the T 27 where they are glassed in and bolted to knee walls. If it is the same on the T 30 it is worth checking out.
I started a group for T 27 owners on Yahoo (T27Owners) and a number of folks with the T27 have undertaken the deck recoring project themselves. There are a few good photos posted on the group website in various stages of project completeness. It is not a job for the faint of heart.

There is a Chesapeake T30 group: Home Page | Chesapeake Tartan 30 Association
and I think a larger Chessy Bay Tartan Sailing group: CBTSC -- Keeping Sailing in Your Future !!!!

Congrats on your T30.

You may also talk to Tidewater Yacht Service Center - Baltimore and the Chesapeake Bay's Premiere Boat Yard
