I was slightly exaggerating the "three guys can toss it in" -- the boat is about 800 lbs dry. I'll have it loaded down for overnighting (my first, hopefully!) but it only draws about 16" of water so a county park ramp should be fine. As long as it's a long ramp or I put in at high tide. I had to make a 12 foot tongue extension to float it off the trailer. (NOT an exaggeration) Hopefully I'll get the boat strung up in my garage and rework the trailer before then.

Keep going up the Rhode river camp letts will be on your port and you will pass Blue water and Rhode marina on your starboard around the bend it opens up into Whitemarsh Creek. I would guess less then 1nm from High Is.

AH, Whitemarsh Creek is where Holiday Hill marina is... I guess, I just figured it was part of Bear Neck creek.

Another vote for Solomon's. Being a few miles up the potomac rules out much of the upper bay.

This is sounding really interesting. I am getting married on June 20th so that weekend is out. If I am thinking of the right spot, Ponder Cove and the like tend to be too narrow an area with enough draft for for a big raft up to safely swing.

Congratulations, Jeff !!!!!

But I'm afraid you'll have to shift the date if that's when the SN rendezvous is. Don't worry, I'm sure she'll understand.

Yes, it would be too small for several large boats to raft up. By "large" I mean 35-45'. We'd be hogging the navigable water. But then again, we're at the "end" so to speak. Who would be going past us?

FWIW, I can ask if we can use the un-rented deep water slips. That might help. It's sounding like Ponder Cove might not be the best place though.

okay as somebody who went to and worked at camp letts, it might make sense to talk to them. they do rent the place out when camp in not in session, we might be able to make a deal. they also have several areas that are not in the camp proper that could be used. i also dont know but normally camp is not open till around the beginning of july.

i have no idea of what they would want, but as a YMCA it is tax free and any money might be a deduction.
