Learning about the Bay

Hi all,

So I posed a few weeks ago that I was taking a job in Charlottesville. We I'm hear now and I'm staring to scout places to keep boats once my fiance gets down here. Anyone go their boat in the water that might need some crew that would be willing to show me some areas on the Bay that might be nice to keep a boat. I have lots of experience sailing on charters and in my lake back home. I'd also be willing to be an extra helper if you have some boat project you need an extra hand on in exchange for a ride. I had to sell my Catalina 320 before I moved out here and I miss her already.

Oh Jason, selling your boat was the wrong choice. The Bay is a great place and she would have been an ideal platform to explore her 4000+ miles of shoreline. If you want to learn about The Bay there are several books you could read. First on my list is Beautiful Swimmers by William Warner. It is a Pulitzer Prize book about Crabs, Water-men and The Chesapeake Bay. There are plenty of other books about The Bay including Mitchner's Chesapeake. The Bay is rich in history from Yorktown to Ft McHenry in Baltimore and many places in between.

No I'm ok. It was going to be to expensive to move out here. With the money I didn't spend on moving it I can buy a better equipped 320. Or something in the 34, 36 foot range.
