I finally got enough of my winter projects done to go out Sunday afternoon. We were on the water around 3pm. We were out by Greenbury point next to the new "Bay Bouy" they put in place. I found the middle of the Bay to have <10Kts of wind at first while I was seeing 10-15 closer in to Spa creek. About an hour later we were seeing 10-15 gusting to 20 from Spa to the shipping channel. The waves were 1-2'. It was perfect. The second sail for my 4 month old daughter. We had her out last year when she was 2 weeks old.

I think you will find that most people who own boats don't use them that much in our area. I was the only boat in my marina who went out yesterday. There were two other people there working on thier boats.

Ok, you were very close to me, at the same time, experiencing the same conditions. I obviously overestimated the water, but I wasn't far gone on the wind. Looks like I was definitely premature in screaming for my mommy.

Well, I'll chalk it up to another learning experience.

I was out on saturday. It felt great to be out on the water. Started light, built to nice breeze probably around 8 knots but eventually petered out. We sailed up to the bridge and back through Annapolis Harbor, over to the eastern side of the Bay then home, roughly 20 miles through the water. Great to be out. The winds varied wildly depending on where we were during the day.

Sunday, I was over in St. Michaels but did not see the kind of winds being described above. Tolchester shows 5 to 8 knots with gusts to 11 or 12 knots (except at 5 pm there was a gust around 15 knots).

Going to try to get out on Good Friday for my first of the season. Probably a local lake to shake out the bugs in some changes I made to boat and tow vehicle.
