I'm glad to see your experiences didn't put you off Cape Charles. I think I may have "under-publicized" it a bit in responding to your earlier request for south bay recommendations. Sally reminds me that the town marina had very short finger piers requiring us to scurry like dock rats over the lifelines to the pier. Of course the cure is backing in, but I had a 40' boat in a 36' slip, so I was happy just to get the "pointy end" in first.

At any rate, do get back to Cape Charles. We were told that they are working on a major new addition to the harbor with floating docks and space for big (>80' boats). There are people who insist on Kings Ck., but it is off by itself, making the walk to town a chore, particularly in the heat.

BTW we spent the 4th in Cambridge and visited Bistro Poplar again - it was amazing: highly recommended ★★★★★ (really). Great fireworks display too.
