GenesisCaptain is on a distinguished road
Gittin' outa Dodge fer a few

It's been a long hot summer which has put a big damper on doing any overnights so the wifey and I are taking off for a short cruise next week. A simple trip, no high adventure here as we're looking to just kick back and relax.

Sunday- Provision the boat and head out late afternoon for our favorite little cove a few miles from port.

Monday- Get an early start and set course for Smith Island. If the wind prediction stays NE 5-10, we should make it in about 7 hrs. Paulie at the marina will have a lb. of crab meat and a few slices of cake waiting for us. They just dredged the channel in March and from all reports the approach from the Bayside is now much easier.

Tuesday- Possibly day sail to Tangier, possibly hang on Smith and explore by bike or golf cart. Who knows, don't care, as long as the cell phone doesn't ring.

Wednesday- Head north to Hoopers Island, throw the hook out in this beautiful cove we found last time there. Chill......

Thursday- An easy 5 hr sail back to port.

The only trick is, how I'm I going to get anything done in the meantime, my mind is already in vacation mode. We had a great sunset sail last night which put me smack dab in chill time. Oh well, guess I should put a shirt on and hit the office this afternoon. Self employment has it's advantages!!
