This is an interesting presentation of wind data from which to choose the "right" date for the next Photo Op. May has the better wind, June more warmth.

In the chart portion below, each of the rings are approx 1/10-nm (~600-ft) apart. The dashed line is 45° true: a reach in all but dead-on N or S wind. (I'm not keen on driving 10-tons of plastic & lead dragging along under spinnaker any closer to that shoal than needed - regardless of those "comforting" 10-ft spot soundings.)

Can we combine this photo op with a Saturday night raftup on the South River near Galesville - Joe's home turf - and only about an hour past TPL?

I really like the idea of doing it on a Saturday, most could probably leave Friday so to be in the area by Saturday noon, start by 1:00 or so and meet for dinner later that evening somewhere. Galesville may be a good location for a after shoot get together?

Don't want to be a spoiled sport..but...don't see in this picture the 10K+/- crab pot markers that frequent this area..

Auspicious is in. I prefer June over May because we may get some more boats that aren't this far North before the 1 June insurance cut-off.

I will keep working on friends for camera boats.

I like the September schedule, most times the temps are cooler and vacations are mostly over. As to time of day we need to look at the water depth of our participating boats. The afternoon photo session would dictate a view looking West, putting the subject boat between camera and TP. That would mean the subject boats would be between TP and the shoal. A morning session would put the subject boat and camera boat on the East side of TP and in generally deeper water.

And I am all for a Galesville raftup, but that river is not South River, it ios West River.

We are in also. Sat AM would be out for us as we cannot get Fridays off to travel down. So we would prefer Sat afternoon. How about Anchoring in Rhode River High Bar where Shawn and I rafted up this year. Lots of room. (We dont mind the West either)

Cant do it in July as Donna and I will be in Maui ( visiting the real Haleakula) and Kaui for two weeks.
