After spending the Easter weekend with the daughter and her family, we are hoping to get out this weekend. With a break in the weather we are planning some sailing fun for a pleasant change. We still have some small projects for the boat, but it is shaping up.

Joe McCary,
Sailing on The Central Chesapeake Bay, West River, MD on my Catalina 27, Aelous II with my wife and friends.

Oh, yes, the weather looks to be near perfect. I admit to becoming a snob who doesn't go out on weekends anymore (too crowded, when I could just as easily go sailing on, say, a Tuesday) but this one looks too tempting to pass up at least going for a daysail.

Had a great sail on Saturday over to he Swan Point Bar and then back across to the Magothy where we rafted up with a friend from the club and another nice couple from Bodkin YC up the inside of Broad Creek on the Magothy. We had never gone quite so far ibnside on Broad Creek. Nice peacefull protected anchorage. Great company

Wound up motor sailibng our way back to Rock Creek today as the winds wer barely 5 knots and the skins were grey and drizzly. All in all a nice weekend end on the ater.

Dave

OK, tomorrow is my first day sailing at the Bay. It looks like good sunny day with windz. LOL.

NOAA calls for:
NW winds 10 to 15 kt with gusts to 25 kt. Waves 1 to 2 ft.

Going home to pack soon and spend a nite on the boat. . Anyone hanging out in Naptown tonite? Beers on me. ....

Was lucky to get our new sail. We hitched it up and took over for it's indoctrination at 12 on a grey bleary day with 10-12 knots from the SE. We are currently sitting in Chase Creek on the Severn River about 2miles upstream from Annapolis. Beautiful place tucked in amongst the trees. Got to test the new IPad2 against the chart plotter and it was spot on with the Navionics app. Time to break out the red wine.

Dave, where's Chase Creek? (Could it be Clements?)
