We could use some of the bigger more stable boats as camera platforms and trade back and forth so everyone has a chance to get their pictures taken. Auspicious is pretty stable.

I'd be up for sharing the cost of renting a stabilized mount if they aren't too dear.

May be just use a faster shutter speed and short focal length.

I liked the idea of a power boat with a bridge that gets me up a bit, not too high so swinging is not high.

I spent several hours on TP one cold January day back in '75 when it was manned. I worked for newspaper and we did a story. While I was there the wind and weather picked up and the CG threatened to leave us there until... It was one of my fondest Bay memories. Others include spending a day on a Skipjack out of Deal Island, 2 trips up The Bay on square rigged ships. And countless memories on small boats. Now that TP is not manned and no fresnel lens, I am not sure I would want to spend too much time on board.

Dave I wanted o revive this thread as we talked a little at the rondevous about this. It seems like the concensus of the people I spoke with though sometime in September would be good.

Chef,

Your always welcome aboard Solare.

I take it your engine rebuild is going slower than planned?

Several posts back Joe suggested September 17/18 as primary date and 24/25 as a backup.

How does that work for everyone that is interested?

Joe - I recall a discussion with you that indicated the time of day that would be best. Can you refresh us on your recommendation?

It seems to me we can run North-South just East of the light or East-West just South of the light. Thoughts?

I'm working on a Larson 370 express cruiser as a camera boat. Anyone else with power boat friends with a more open platform?
