2011 2nd Annual Chesapeake Photo-Op

Last year was a great time and a wonderful opportunity.

For those of you tuning in late catch up here: http://www.sailnet.com/forums/chesap...nvitation.html

Thanks to Wayne on Virginia Dare for organization last year and to Joe McCary for managing the photo team.

As we wound down last year we talked about a similar photo-op this year with Thomas Point Light as a back drop. I have two possible power boat guys--good friends--willing to serve as photo platforms, schedule permitting.

Like last year the question becomes when. Now is the time to start checking calendars and offering up ideas.

In my opinion we should be sure that Joe can attend and get some great pictures of his boat. We all owe him one!

I can volunteer to be the camera operator as long as I am in town so Joe will have his boat pic taken this year.

I don't have much experience in shooting sailboats. I shoot this and very good at it.
Caution, may be NSFW:

Since I don't have a boat, I won't miss anything. I don't mind to do some community services if I am qualified. However, i do need an assistant or two in order to do a good job for this assignment.

Dave,

Thanks for taking the lead in this. Donna and I are in. The pictures Joe took last year were spectacular. There were so many to choose from that we have different ones all over the house. Special place for the poster too.

I cant tell you how many times people have come into my office at work and commented on the pictures he took.

I would suggest we do this somewhat early (by 11-12) as we have a distance to travel ( about 5-6 hours) and I am sure there will be a few from up this way participating. Please stay away from the Last two weeks to Labor Day. Donna and I will be traveling to Kaui and Maui to make opur 5 year pilgramage to Haleakula ( Ever wonder why we chose such as tongue twisting name).

Rockdawg...we are expecting to meet you at the Rondevous on the 11th. Lots of people are coming without their bopats so you will feel welcome. Denise (DeniseO30) and Rick (Rhythm Doctor) are coming from NJ for a sail with us that afternoon before the get together.

BTW....Dawg...didnt recognize the last photo is that Lady GaGa? ...**:**)

I'll try to make it this year as well. Let's throw out some dates and make it happen!

BTW, Has anyone heard from Wayne? I see Virginia Dare is on the hard at HHN, with the winter cover on and a broker's for sale sign on her.

Can someone throw some dates here? I just make sure I can plan ahead to be there.
Ooops, didn't read T38S post before I post. Sorry for the echo.

I too see on YW about the sale of Virginia Dare. Wayne has not been on Sailnet since last year. What a beautiful boat she is

I'll be happy to play Wayne's role this year. I'd like to hear from Joe for his availability and choices and select from those.

I saw VD on YW. She is beautiful.
They must find another hobby to explore. I heard that the Space Shuttle is on sale now
