Cambridge is certainly a worthy visit. It has a number of good restaurants with good rating. However, we did not eat in. You saw a lot working boats and Clayton crab processing plant as you enter the harbor on your right.

We visit the place and get some crab and crab meat (lump meat for $20 a lb) is very good price. I asked the lady in the office how do I go about to get a job picking crab, she said I must pick at least 3 dozen per hour in order to get a job there which is a bout one crab for every 1.6 min. Asking if I can eat crab while picking the meat; she replied with a big no. I asked if there is an employee discount, she said no. So I guess I am not going to get a job there then.
I went over the picking station. Looking at our pickup ticket, it was witting in Spanish. All the pickers are female, most of them are Spanish speaking, some older AA and a few Filipinos. They are all hard at work. I hope their children and grandchildren are school and doing well to reach their American dreams.
Picking crab is hard work, I gained a lot more appreciation after seeing how it was done. I watched them to work with curiosity, they all smiled. I made a gesture of feeding me some crab meat, they're all laughing. It looks like they are all happy and enjoy their work.
On the side of Route 50 by the bridge, there were too many closed down restaurants from fast food to family types. I guess it must be the signs of the time.
I believe that you can drop anchor in the Cambridge Creek, it is well protected and has the depth (just in front of Snapper Restaurant). Since it was weekday, we moored our boat by the bulkhead just in front the Dorchester County Building. At the lowest tide, it was 6 ft, so it is plenty of our. There are enough room for at least 5 boats from the condo side to Snapper Restaurant.
As we were heading to Cambridge from Knapps Narrow, there is a Cambridge Light (not sure the name), please stay far north of it. I approached it too close, it took less than 30 sec from 37 ft to 3.9 ft. I love my reverse. Hahaha.......... Not harm was done, except stirred up some dirt.
Yesterday, the wind was very light. I sailed as much as I could. But it ended up motoring a lot. While I had a good time in the bay, but I heart for more off-shore passage sailing where I find comfort, challenge, satisfaction and peace.
