August 13 is officially proclaimed "Liveaboard Boater Day" in Washington DC. Really! Here's a link: Notice ID 614221: ACR 18-213, "Live-Aboard Boater Day Declaration Resolution of 2009", DC Regulations
So, the liveaboards at Gangplank marina are hosting "open houses" ... er, open boats ... anyway, tours of their boats, and answering questions about the lifestyle. If anyone's contemplating moving aboard, and trying to convince their parents (or their kids) that they aren't crazy, this event may be a good opportunity. Or if you're just curious.
