No thread. It started in the chat room...[what was turning into a long explanation deleted]. Jaye suggested we meet up in the Magothy and then suggested that we have a mini-sailnet rendezvous.

I will let them know and get back to you. If you want, PM me your email address and I'll give it to them. I only have a cell phone number but they are on their boat just about every weekend and I'll be down there this weekend. They're a nice couple. They anchor out frequently in the Magothy. I think they said their boat was sailed by the original owner of the company and that they bought it from his son who owns Salt Brokerage in Rock Hall. Or something like that. I do know it's hull #2.

Sail was awesome hitting 12.5 on downwind in the 30 Knott trades. 10+ close hauled with no pounding

Tomorrow of to snorkel with the green turtles and spinner dolphins off of Lani. Have eaten Mahi ,ono, and opakapaka so far. Tonight need some meat.

I turned a job at the Ritz down here 15 year's ago. Makes me wonder why.
Shawn one of the pinot bottles is laced. Did you get that one

In the harsh marine environment, something is always in need of repair. Margaritas fix everything.

Not that I could make the raft (or was invited ), but this is a good example of why I'm disappointed there is a chat room.

Surfs up in Kauai

Now that Irene has safely passed us by we can breathe a little easier.

Since we last reported Donna and I have wandered over to Kauai for our last week of vacation. For those never been here, Kauai is as close to old Hawaii as you can get on the major islands. Very laid back and rural. Tpday the was a southern swell of 8-10ft with the trades blowing their steady 15-20 as usual. We are spending this part of our vacation just hanging out and snorkeling every day. Yesterday we sat on Hanelei Beach ( remember Puff the majoc dragon). The roosters run wild on the island and crow all hours of the day

Here are a few pics from the beach today

Kilauea Point Lighthouse, Hanelei Bay, Lumaha'i Beach, and Ha'ena Beach Kaui

Donna and I traveled up the coast 10 miles from our condo and sat on a beach secluded and undesturbed (except for the many crabs) for hours outside of Hanelei. The crabs had us hysterical. Kaui is so vey beautiful and laid back. Kilauea Lighthouse has a clam shaped fresnel lense which was the largest ever made.

Haleakula Crater

Sorry to bore you more with our travels. Back to Maui. Donna and I took a 4 hour horsebackride 3000 ft down from the 10,000 summit of Haleakula ( Our boats namesake) to pay hommage as Irene barreled up the coast at our Haleakula.

First picture is of West Maui from , feet

Our asses hurt after the 4 hour ride. My horse, Bubba...no lie.. was pissed he had to carry me, and Donna horse Lucy...was a dingbat.

The ride was starkley beautiful in its desolation and the plant is the silversword and blooms once in a lifetime...only grows in Haleakula and is endangered. Haleakula is a federal park.

Dave
