Question Storm Reports from the Eastern Shore

Looking for storm/tidal surge reports from the Eastern Shore. Also looking for road reports concerning the capability of traveling to the marinas.

Thanks,

Clay

No surge. As far as I know, all roads are open. Some areas are still without power and some businesses closed. Delmarva Power (most of the Upper Eastern Shore) estimates that all power will be restored by 11pm Wednesday.

Thanks,

Didn't want to stress the locals any more than has to be. Been try'n to contact our marina to get a possible damage report so we can process with our insurance company. Also if the roads are passable in the Rock Hall area so we can determine possible damage our selves.

Thanks,

Clay

Several larger groups of Delmarva Power customers in RH got power back yesterday afternoon (us included). All roads are open. Driving around, most of the damage was from fallen trees and tree limbs. There were a few trees on structures but not many. We did not closely inspect marinas, but driving by where we could see the ones on Swan Creek and the ones on the harbor, the only damage we could see was a few shredded jibs. We did look at our boat on the hard in Swan Creeks boatyard and inspect a boat for a friend at Long Cove and everything looked fine there. We did not get out as far as Langford.

Got a call from my marina said they've been out of electricity since Saturday. So I rode down on the bike to check things out. Only saw a few tree limbs and branches down other then that roads where clear.

Checked out our marina..all boats looked in good shape..even the ones that failed to heed the warnings of taking all canvas and loose items off their boats.

I could tell they had a lot of rain bilge was way fuller than usual..most of it came down the mast..

Other than that everything looks almost back to normal. Took a ride around Rock Hall and some of the other marinas..couldn't see much damage..

Now waiting to see what the next storm (about 1 1/2 weeks out) will do before we decide putting back all our canvas and sails.

I wouldn't let Katia keep me from putting back the canvas and sails... might be a non-factor. There's only a couple of months left so get back out there ASAP.
