If all is working well except the drive, have you considered just changing the drive to a below deck ram? This would only work with the st versions.

Its a old Autohelm 4000. I don't think it's capable of integrating with a below deck drive since there is nothing to tell the clutch to engage.

Yes, you do need the later ST version with the clutch output.

I changed from the 4000 wheel pilot to a below deck and would not go back. Unlike the older wheelpilots, it is quiet!
