Great Day Sunday on the Bay

Anyone else go out yesterday? It was a perfect day for sailing on the bay. We headed out of Old Road Bay into the Patapsco, then the Bay. Strong 20 knot winds, but with the main reefed, it was a comfortable and controlled sail. Sun was shining, and it wasn't too hot or too cold. We need more sailing days like these. And there was hardly a stinkpot to be found! Made it home in time to watch the Ravens win.

A friend and I were returning from a 4-day cruise yesterday coming up from Harris Creek, around Tilghman Island to Herring Bay. Beautiful day! Certainly the best of the 4 volatile days of our cruise. We noticed the lack of stinkpots too. I think that was the most sailboats I've seen on the water in our area this year.

Yesterday was the kind of Chesapeake sailing day I spend July and August (and this year September) wishing for!

We spent two day Eastern Shore (Corsica River and Granary Creek) on the Wye River before returning home today on a beautifuyl fall day with a 12-15 knot breeze from the South. Nobody but nobody out except the crabbers and clammers.

Glorious fall days

Dave

Sailed out of Herrington Harbor to the Choptank.

Great day! Lot of boats. This Saturday looks to be another great day for sailing.
