Chesapeake February dinner

Not sure if people saw my post above about getting the Chesapeake Bay sailors together to kick off the "last weekend of the month" meetups/raft-ups with another land based dinner. Let's meet on Saturday 2/25 at 6:30 PM at Langermann's in Canton. I'm happy to count heads and make a reservation.

Dave, I've got you and Donna down!

Who else is in?

Unfortunately, John and I won't be there, either. Next time!

meetup

I wont be able to make the meetup this weekend. I will be leaving for a Medical Mission to Guatemala that day. Anyone interested in a raft -up near Solomons? I would be glad to help arranging it.

Re: 2012 Sailing Season

OK Ladies and Gents: It's Time!

I went through this thread and tried to find where people volunteered. Here are the raft up weekends for the rest of the year:

April 28/29-
May 26/27-
June 9/10 3rd annual Sailnet Rondevous at the Maryland Yacht Club
July 28/29- Jaye (WingnWing) and Dan
August 25/26-
September 29/30-
October 27/28
November 20/21-

Dave (chef2sail) mentioned that October was taken, but I can't find who wants it. Step forward, please!

There is not an end of June raft up due to the rendezvous, but if anyone wants to still plan one, feel free.

I don't think we should stress about finding a "captain" for every weekend. We had a successful impromptu raft up last year (which is what spawned this). Please look back through the thread because there were some good ideas for locations.

John and I will be in the BVIs in April, but anyone is welcome to raft up there with us!

Re: 2012 Sailing Season

Bubblehead...you had an excellent idea about the raft up in Rhode River near you. Are you willing to organize that on one of the dates Donna has posted above.

Donna how about you are you and John picking one of the dates?

While it isnt necessary to pick a "captain" it may help if someone will step forward as Donna has said to take the lead and somewhat loosely organize it. Other wise we become that perverbialy herd of cats which are impossible to decide on one direction.

Like Donna said...
Quote:
Step forward, please!
My wife Donna and I will take the October date and invite all to join us at Cackaway Island up Lanford Creek on the Chester for a "water meeting", rafting up is optional. We go their every year to marvel at the "Goose Landing Circus". We have been entertained every year by the 100s of geese landing wave after wave in the less than perfect "V" landing next to our boat and laughed our asses off as they dazzel us with their squacking and rough water landings...sometimes taking out the rest of the "V" NOthing better than Langford in the early fall for beauty, (Although last year we did this at both Corsica and an unamed Creek in the Wye) because the winds were howling that weekend at 25-35+ and thats where we could find the best protection.
