Re: 2012-June 9- 4th Annual Chesapeake Sailnet Rondevous
To Everyone and All who made it,
It was spectacular to see so many of the SailNet Denizens gathered together in one place and enjoying getting to know each other or renewing old friendships. There is much gratitude way pread around but I'll start the ball rolling....
Dave and Donna,(Chef2sail) and Maryland Yacht Club, thank you for arranging the splendid facilities and the food. Shawn (T37Chef) thank you for holding forth with spatula and tongs, remaining on station until all were fulfilled and filled full. Gary, thank you for the musical accompaniment. Colin, thank you for the record distance travelled in a 20 footer to attend the event. Denise and Hank, thank you for the record drive to the event.Jay and Dan, thanks for the authentic Arrrrrrrrrrh. I am sure there are at least 40 other thank you's due.... But mostly, thank you everyone for coming and supporting the event. As I said the other night, it is the members who make SailNet what it is, and it brought me great pleasure to actually have a chance to spend time getting to know that group in person and seeing everyone enjoying just being together.
Donna, (DRFerron) if I have one regret it is that I never made it down to your end of the pavilion to say hello. I started that way a dozen times but never got past each next conversation. My only other regret is that I never did hear the story behind the Lions of the Chesapeake.
So thank you one and all. I will look forward to the next event with great relish.
