Are you launched yet?

Blah. My engine is still not finished with its refit ... so it doesn't look like I'm getting in the water until the week of 4/23 ...

Are most people launched yet?

Actually have been out once already and knocked the slime off of her. This weekend we are putting all the sails back on,,,,doing osme projects and cleaning her up some and maybe going out for a spin as the weather is supposed to be gorgeous.

We are spending the night tomrorow on the boat anchored somewhere---probably Bodkin

Re: Are you launched yet?

Still have about 5 days worth of work to perform before I'm in the water. scrubbed and sanded everything above the rub rail today--damned old muscles are really sore now. Tomorrow I have to remove the bow-pulpit roller for the anchor and replace it. Next Saturday, the masking tape goes on and the painting begins. Should be able to paint the topsides in two to three days if the weather cooperates. Than I can get in the water and begin having fun.

Cheers,

Gary

Re: Are you launched yet?

Well I'm still on the trailer in the barn...BUT I'm finally past the tearing it apart and working on it stage...

Got everything (but the bottom) painted that's gonna get painted and am in the "recommisioning"/loading 'er up stage...

Cushions, Curtains, Stove and Grill go in today and thinking I might just cook and camp out tonight on board...kinda getting used to the old girl...Heck low is only supposed to get to 50's tonight...(snow on Monday )

Unfortunatly between now and Memorial weekend it is my "busy season" and throw in a couple graduations on the weekends I probably won't "splash" till first week June...

Re: Are you launched yet?

Spent the winter in the water. I was between jobs the last two weeks of March and spent several days installing a new iPod interface stereo, an X5 Autopilot and Raritan head. Did a short haul on the 27th to clean the bottom/running gear and replace zincs and moved the boat to our new marina that day.

Last weekend we did the sea trial calibration of the new autopilot so were on the water for about an hour (it was blowing stink and we had no sails on).

Today my fantastic better half went up the mast to re-install the lazy jacks and re-tape the spreader boots. After those tasks were done we got the main on but the wind was too high and directly on the stern so we just chilled a while til the winds layed down some then got the genny up.

As I type this from our slip, I expect we'll go for a shot sail tomorrow.

Re: Are you launched yet?

aargh! My lovely new (to me) sailboat was just delivered Fri. morning to marina - Weather is gorgeous - planned to paint bottom, unfreeze two thru hulls and install new float for auto bilge pump - then launch next weekend- BUT yard has her hanging in a sling and has not put her on stands for me. Went back today (SAt.at noon) still in the sling!!!!!!

a weekend wasted - now I'll have to wait till next weekend to get back and get her done - can't wait!
