God! ..it was hot yesterday(4th of July)..

..but we had a nice sail. It must have been so hot that we just about had the whole Chester River to our selves. Dove on the boat and cleaned the hull..water temps where like bathtub temps. and the viz was about 6 inches..very murky water..So how about the rest what did you all do to keep cool..?

Had a great sail from Mill Creek to Bloody Point and back. We were going to watch the Annapolis fireworks from the boat, but we were too hot and tired. Saw the biggest jellyfish I have ever seen in my life in the creek. Be careful in the water!

I sailed on the Severn yesterday afternoon and didn't think it was hot at all. There were a lot fewer powerboats and more wind than I expected. 'Twas a beautiful sail. Our end of the Severn is now the color of espresso and I snagged a few jellyfish while swimming out to my boat. We had no jellyfish last year at all, if I remember correctly.

Welcome to the new world of global warming . I just heard this morning that 40,000 all time heat records have been broken in the US recently, an extreme spike in the average. Expect it to get much worse.
We could have taken 10 degrees of your heat here on the wet coast, but the heat is arriving soon.

I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or what, but several day stretches of 100F degree temps are driving me away from my beloved boat.

I grew up in south Florida, and served in the UAE where it was routinely 115-125F every day, with 95% humidity. I should be able to withstand this, but I'm finding it pretty unpleasant.

I hope we get a little moderation soon.

I think the nettles are marching up the Bay so quickly, because there hasn't been any rain. The salinity is increasing without the rain, and they love it salty. We need a big influx of sea turtles to eat 'em!

Yesterday the 19th hit a 100 in the Phila area. It's nuts. I can't, so I don't even try to get out there.

Would you believe that co-worker just GAVE me a functional, Cruiseair Carry-on A/C unit for my boat?

It'll make some summer work on the boat much more bearable!
