Re: Overnight Sails on the Bay

Nick,

I'll second some of the choices. From Herring, Oxford, St Mikes, Cambridge (marina stop), Annapolis are all very easy sails. Slightly longer but worth it are Solomon's, Rock Hall and Queenstown. Not towns, but accessible by car to meet up with your friends are Rhode River (car to the small ramp next to the Smithsonian), Whitehall (Cantlers), Magothy (Deep Creek).

We also sail out Herring (HHN). Would love to meet up sometime and compare notes.

Safe sailing,
greg

Re: Overnight Sails on the Bay

We sail out of Shipwright in Herring Bay and have only been to two marinas so far: St. Michaels marina in that town, and Mears Yacht Haven in Oxford. Both are nice and have showers and pools. I've stayed in Oxford twice and like it as a quiet destination. It was extremely hot out the one time in St. Mikes, so I can really only comment on how nice and cool it was inside the bar. I hope to make it to Solomon's Island in the early fall.
