Re: When you come the "Realization", buy it

Congradulations! We just moved up after selling our Macgregor (A wonderful boat that we had MANY great times with).

We ended up with a Catalina 320 and LOVE it! Admittedly I've been doing a few jobs I didn't think I'd have to do since we spent so much money, but they're small things except for replacing the house 4D battery yesterday that was boiling out from a shorted cell (Surveyer should have picked that one up). It sure is different that when the wind picks up she just takes off instead of heeling all the way over! The major problem I have is leaving the boat, I seem to want to just hang around on it and enjoy!

I understand not wanting to leave it. We did a sail test and survey a couple of years ago on a H31 and when we raised the sails she jumped ahead, what a ride. Can't wait until Sat when we'll take her out for a good sail.
I too loved our Macgregor but it was just to small for a guy my size to spend below for any length of time.

I know what you mean, I'm over 6' and weigh 245...or so. I used to refer to moving around the old boat as shuffling around like an astronaught.

Yeah, I'm keeping my eye peeled for an early model Seaward 32RK - I really like the wing keel/trailerable concept.
