Thanks Donna. I was toying with the idea of going this month (November,) but that's looking unlikely. We'll probably end up waiting until Spring.

Thanks for the information everybody!

We're here! Any recommendations for dinner with kids on Saturday night? We'll catch the trolley at Paltry Pt.

Where did you decide to head? How long are you there? I will be in Haven Harbour on Monday.

Re: Rock Hall gouge?

We ended up going to Waterman's Crab House for dinner. Stayed at Osprey Point. Nice place and a fun trip. But Lord o' mercy what is up with that tram hitting normal traffic speed on the open road with no belts or railings and only a few handholds? That would not be legal on the mainland. I told my wife that the only thing that could make it more dangerous would be if you were allowed to shoot guns from it. For all I know you ARE allowed.

Re: Rock Hall gouge?

By the way, in my earlier post, "Paltry Pt" = "Osprey Pt" without the auto-correct.

Well, if I remember my Eastern Shore history correctly, it hasn't been too long since they last tried to secede from the state. 1980s was the last time? So they might not care about your fancy mainland ways.

But, if you truly felt unsafe, I would definitely speak up. The mayor seems very receptive to feedback on how to make the town better.

Re: Rock Hall gouge?

It wasn't so much "I feel unsafe" as, "I can't believe this is legal."

For those who don't know, the "tram" in Rock Hall is like the little shuttle that takes you from the parking lot of an amusement park to the front entrance of the park. It's pulled by a jeep and is completely open on the sides. Imagine if one of your buddies worked at a park like that and one night after closing time he said, "Hey, let's take this thing out to Denney's," and you headed off down the road.

I felt like I, personally, could situate my family and give them some basic instructions about how to sit and where to hang on. But over time I can't imagine running a service like that without some knucklehead falling out.

Can't beat the price though. $1 per adult and the kids were free, and they came and picked me up when I called them.

We had a great trip and will be back. And we'll ride the tram again too!

Re: Rock Hall gouge?

By the way Donna, do you normally take the long way out (and in) down south, or are you able to cut out west from the red light (of the red and white range lights?) I did the math and watched the tide carefully and snuck in through the shallow water, but I didn't see many others over there.

Re: Rock Hall gouge?

I was over there earlier this year, first time to Rock Hall, and the driver took us on tour of the area bringing us through a bunch of marinas, to the public docking area, and through town. What a great service that tram is! And Rock Hall sure is purdy!
