Re: 2013 5th Annual Sailnet Chesapeake Rondevous- June 8, 2013

Hello Chef -
I'm trying - got some gunk in my fuel tank so I'm changing filters, bleeding air and fuel then bleeding it again. Sailing in the rain isn't an issue but I'm gonna need that engine too.
I'll sacrifice some skinned knuckles hoping the weather break for you folks and that I can motor part of the way down in the morning.

Our shiny new mixing elbow is assembled and will be bolted on tomorrow morning before departure. We expect to arrive early to mid afternoon. Handmade tortilla chips from Sinaloa Mexican Grocery are in our possession and the bean dip will be made fresh tomorrow afternoon on the boat. We can also bring a fruit salad either Saturday evening or Sunday morning if there’s interest in gathering for breakfast. As always, we’re really looking forward to this event!

Shawn – I’m very intrigued by your battery project. I never knew about the L-16’s until your previous thread. Sounds like a great solution.

Bryan.....you need lots of height room. He s putting him in the engine compartment. They are very robust looking and 125 lbs apiece. Perfect for his application. He will never have to worry about power again.

The dip sounds great. We are up for breakfast on Sunday AM. Any chance you can get some Goldbergs bagels. If not let me know. We can bring cream cheese and lox/

Dave - Good idea about the Goldbergs bagels but unfortunately they close at 2 PM on Fridays and are closed Saturdays to observe the Shabot. We'll have to keep that in mind for next year and get our order in earlier in the week.

Tall batteries with small footprints might be just what we need. Out battery area has height but not enough width or depth to fit more than two batteries.

okay so maybe I was a bit presumptuous with my comments about the weather. Currently no wind to speak of but visibility from the clubhouse at MYC is probably about a mile, I can just barely make out the white rocks at the entrance of rock creek.

Battery install is at a standstill for now...arrgg. 4arch...pm me for.my cell and call me when you get here tomorrow

Cheers,
Shawn

Bummer, was looking forward to seeing the installation.
