good, bad, or great Egg? (inlet) Local knowledge?

Don't think I'd ever try, even if I did someday find myself that close to AC. but looking at the chart of Great Egg sure looks allot more interesting. Lot's of channels and small islets, guessing fish run it well too. Looks like power boats can go all the up to May's landing! Good for kayaking for sure! I can also see how it must get very strong winds coming from the W NW or SW, combine that with opposing current...

ocean city

Denise
Having lived in ocean city,N.J. for 18 years and going out that inlet in a hobie and my keelboat it is a very treacherous inlet with shifting shoals and buoys which are moved by the C.G on a regular basis not much room to sail in the back bay. Great place for a power boat as many places to fish and explore up to Mays Landing. Outgoing tide a.nd onshore afternoon breeze can make for 8foot rollers through the inlet which can shove a sailboat on the side by side sandbars easily. Only good for local

Thanks Dave.. I've paddled the little egg river down to lake Lenape which is really nice.. the trip though tidal, looks like an overnight in the marsh would be needed.. not something for summer LOL
