America's circumnav/Matt Rutherford

I'll bet some of you Chessy sailors have been following Matt Rutherford's circumnav of the Americas. Solo Around the America's Under Sail | An audacious attempt at sailing the Northwest Passage and circumnavigating entirety of both continents, to benefit Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating
He is planning on making landfall in Annapolis this Saturday 4/21/2012. If I lived closer I'd be tempted to be there. Are any of you planning to be in Annapolis that day?

Annapolis, a drinking town with a sailing problem.

Check out some of the recent photos of his boat at the Bay Bridge/Tunnel. There is quite a beard on that hull.

Re: America's circumnav/Matt Rutherford

Pretty incredible journey--even for a young man. Wish I didn't have to work. I would be there for sure. As for the beard, you're right--it's impressive. Wonder how much it slows the boat.

Cheers,

Gary

I have been following his blog for sometime. Great story and loving it. I am sure I will follow his steps venturing out to see the world.
