Boat Reviews for Columbia 45

Can not find boat reviews anywhere.

What I understand is that this is a strong Blue water boat, if a little slow.
Would appreciate any and all information from any owners out there.

I am very close to signing on the bottom line.
Please I need the guiding voice of experience. Can she cross the Pacific.
Would you buy this boat or look for another.

Thank you

Some good info here:
http://www.columbia-yachts.com/valdez.html based on this I would carefully survey deck for core issues and keel structure as it is cast iron and water ingress over the years would be a bad thing.
Also lots of info here:

Looks like several have made it across the Pacific.

Hi, I have a Columbia 39 and love it. It is a 1971 but has held up great through the years. My son and I come consistantly in the top 3 in our local regattas. Our boat is in Kaneohe Bay, on Oahu Hawaii and the wind is almost always between 15 and 30 kts.
If the 45 is anything like my Bill Tripp 39, I would buy it.
Aloha,

Ray

Thank you Ray.
When buying a used boat the jounrney can be long. As it happens I did look at several columbia's , gulfstar, and finaly bought a 36' Morgan. It needs some love on the interior but the mechanicaally, hull, and decks are very good. So thanks information from fellow boat owners really does help alot.

Cheers!
Clary
