Columbia 43 Repower

Hello All!

I can't tell you how relieved I am to find a site where people actually post about Columbia boats!

Last year I purchased a C43. Her name was Flame and she was a one-owner boat until me. She was barren of amenities yet fully equipped for racing... (23 bags of sails!) The PO removed the Perkins and installed a Palmer P60 as noted by another C43 owner who used to race against Flame.

She's a great boat and I'm looking to pull the Palmer and drop in a Perkins. No doubt there are better re-power options available today, however this is what I'm set on.

I'm inquiring of anyone who has re-powered with a Perkins OR who has a Perkins. That being said, I'm looking for transmission reduction ratio and v-drive model and angle. All additional advise and wisdom regarding this will be graciously welcomed!

Thanks for being here and providing the wealth of knowledge only a Columbia owner can!

Fair Winds,

Mike
