Wanted: Columbia 33 in southern california

Title says it all. I'm on a sailboat hunt and the C-33 is just about perfect. I've got a buddy with one and I love how it sails.

Anyone have a Columbia 33 in the Los Angeles area they want to let move on to a new owner?

even if you dont want to sell your C-33, and you are in Socal, give a shout. I'm curious how many of the 61 C-33's are in the neighborhood

Wow, can't be too many.

I keep a watch on Craigslist by using the Android app "Craigsnotification". It allows you to use search criteria, areas, price, and a few other things as variables. I have searches for Columbias, Formosas, Irwins, and ketches. When I was looking for radar, I included that, too.

1969 Crealock/Columbia 36 Sloop completely refitted in 2000 and new Yanmar in 2006.
Hey, if I can't be sailing at least I can be here!

Thanks - I do similar things with RSS.

I do know there are a couple here - have heard stories of them being sighted in Santa Monica bay and oddly enough my buddy's C-33 in Marina Del Rey is 2 slips down and across from another C-33, that is reportedly 2 hull numbers away from his in production.

Well, you're about three miles north of me. There are more than a few Columbias in our marina, but only one that is close to yours - a 1973 C34.

We'll probably see you on the way to Catalina some time.

I guess a Columbia 34 (centerboard model) would also be a very similar boat.. e.g. 1966-1970 version that shares the same hull as the C-33

If you have one of those in Socal, let me know

I think there was a late 60's 34 on Craigslist last week. Check the Los Angeles area.

Thanks - I found one in San Diego (Shelter Island) and I'm waiting on more info...

There are a couple of other C34's in the LA area, but are the bubble-top cored-hull variety, not the MkI
