just purchased c-29 hull #15

Hi there all, am now proud owner of c-29 #15 which now nameless is about to become "Phocoena" after the Harbour Porpoise mother and calf that passed closed to us as we were towing our new aquisition home. Now to find an Atomic 4 to put back in her, any tips on what to look out for when buying one of these used? Am going to look at one that's been sitting in a garage for a number of years and I'm not the greatest motor guy. Thanks in advance for any tips, and by the way are there any other early c-29's in this forum?

Chris.

Columbia 8.7 vs Columbia 29

I have Columbia 8.7 meter #179 Chi Lin which I keep in DuSable harbor in Chicago. There is a seconf 8.7 meter in good shape on the same dock. How does the 8.7 meter (28feet 7 inches) compare to the Columbia 29?

Also, I am looking for a pair of the stern chocks for my 8.7 meter. Anyone know of a 8.7 meter that is being scrapped?

the alan payne designed columbia 8.7 is a much beamier boat than the s&s designed c-29. in foul weather, i'd prefer the s&s hull, but for comfort and interior room the 8.7 wins..........
