I actually had that opportunity last winter. Helped a guy move a boat down the US east coast and he invited me and my wife to stay with him for a couple weeks in the bvi.

Between the plane and buying lunch and dinner every night and drinks for three people it wasn't exactly cheap.

So make sure you know how much this free vacation will cost you.

The lesson from the Icarus story is not about human failing.
It is a lesson about the limitations of wax as an adhesive.
If you have an engineering problem solve it.

I've already done one sail off of the forums and was just offered paid airfare both ways and free meals for another sail that I am contemplating but yes I know usually air and meals are my cost as I have 3-4 of those offers on the table at the moment as well.

well it isn't the caribbean and may not be exactly what you're looking for, but there is a tall ship in Milwaukee that will let you volunteer a week at a time. you will be a deck hand and have to work but could be a great time. definitely a safe ship with an able crew.

name of the vessel is the Dennis Sullivan. I went on her for a one day sail, was a great time. thought about doing a week but seemed to never find an open week to go. I think thtey finish in the next week or two for the season but will be available in Spring as well.
