Hi. I'm looking for crew to help me sail my 38ft catamaran from the Cook Islands up to Hawaii. Passage will take 3-4 weeks and I would like to leave in mid to late September. I'm a guy in my mid-thirties, and sailed this boat from Mexico across the Pacific in April with one crew member. Now it's time to head back to the states and looking for one or two additional people for the passage.
I am interested. What would this entail ? What travel expenses would or would not be covered ? What experience is necessary ? ( not that I am not very capable.
Fuel and provisions while underway are covered by me, so there wouldn't be many expenses other than your personal travel costs to Tahiti, and then home from Hawaii.
I'm ideally looking for someone who has passage-making blue water experience. If you have that, I'd consider paying for airfare costs. If you only have coastal sailing experience it would need to be pretty substantial.
If you're still interested please send me a message with your sailing experience and we can go from there.
Re: Crew Needed: French Polynesia to Hawaii (Sept/Oct)
I should also add: I've decided to leave from Raiatea in the French Polynesia, not the Cook Islands. And am looking at a departure at the end of September or the beginning of October. Thanks.
