Cruising in Cuba

35 foot ketch with crew of two looking for crew to cruise North coast of Cuba – currently lying in Varadero – We shall be cruising coastal passages that are in reach of Havana safe-haven initially, progressing further Westwards in December and as weather allows. Crew is expected to cover own travel costs to boat and visa costs whist in Cuba and any of their own onshore eating/entertainment.

Re: Cruising in Cuba

We will be in Costa Rica/Panama in December, very keen to cruise out to and around cuba for a 2-3 weeks if you will be around these parts by chance?
2 easy going New Zealanders (30) travelling through Latin America for two years, can pay costs, cook etc

Re: Cruising in Cuba

Hi there,
Two Canadians looking to sail to Havana in November and possibly cruise around the Cuban coast in Early-Mid December. We will be around the Keys looking for passage towards Cuba if a straight run doesn't present itself.
We have diverse interests and skill sets that we would love to share that include music, natural building, carpentry, masonry, permaculture, organic gardening, politics, dance etc.
we can cover our own costs and would love any advice about sailing to Havana weather we can make it there in time to meet up with you before you start cruising or not.

Re: Cruising in Cuba

This sounds like a good idea.

I have most of December through new years available to cruise. I'm a 34 year old male in decent shape. Can cook, specialize in being "resourceful". I'm good for a laugh or a joke, know when its time to work and when its ok to relax and have a beer. Boat owner, sail my H27 on the Columbia river in the Portland area regularly, but unfortunately have little blue water experience.

Happy to share expenses for the experience. Let me know if you have a spot for me.
