Crew available in Langkawi

I and a friend are in Langkawi (Malaysia) and are looking to crew on sailboats going towards the Pacific Ocean. I am an experienced sailor. I have sailed the Pacific three times before (from Cabo to Hiva Oa, Marquises) My friend is a documentary film maker. Please contact me aliparsa [at] yahoo [dot] com

Re: Crew available in Langkawi

Most of the cruisers on the west coast go on west about and my experience says many leave from Phuket rather than Langkawi. Some are hanging at Penang.Good luck either way. Many advertise in Phuket for captain/crew to get to Europe thru the Red Sea Not my ide of a relaxing sea cruise.

Re: Crew available in Langkawi

Make your way up to Phuket, Thailand. Drop into the Phuket Crusing Yacht Club in Ao Chalong. You will meet many sailors from around the world. Message board inside has a crew wanted section. You can post your details as well.

You won't find many boats heading for the Pacific as it is against the wind. Some try and make it to Palau from the Philippines.

If you find your way to the Blue Jetty in Kuah, Bass Harbor, Langkawi this is where the anchored out boats leave their dinghies, there is another message board here and the chance to meet sailors. Probably a good place to look for a ride up to Thailand.
