Michigan sailor available for weeks/months-long cruising

Hello SailNet!

I am a single 22 year old crew just graduated from college, and now I have some free time to go sailing on open waters. I have been sailing a Phantom sailboat and 24 ft cabin cruiser for about 4 years on inland lakes in Michigan and on Lake Michigan. I'm looking to join a cruising boat in the Caribbean (eastern caribbean if possible), for 3-4 months in early 2016. I'm very easy going, able to cook and clean my fair share, and beyond excited to see a new corner of the world. Feel free to reply or contact me if I can be of service!

Cheers,
Casey

Re: Michigan sailor available for weeks/months-long cruising

Casey,

Did you ever make it south?

If not, where are you located in MI. I live in the Grand Rapids area and have been looking for more locals who want to get out on the water. Obviously its off season now but a couple guys from work and I are trying to start a small, casual club to encourage eachother to get our boats out. We usually sail in Muskegon but are open to other areas.

I know its not what you were originally looking for but it might make a good substitute in the mean time.

Currently in leewards. Going to windwards. Looking for crew to go to Cuba. Leave from BVIs ~ 24march17. Be in Cuba 5-20arpril17. Then go north back to New England. Depending on weather either direct shot to Newport RI or bop up the coast. No travel in the ditch. If interested please pm me. Leave contact email/phone and brief sailing resume. Have intermittent wifi now so maybe a day or two to respond. Tx.
