Crew/Skipper wanted Jamestown RI 8/20-8/27

I just bought a Beneteau 41. I am looking for experienced crew to accompany me on day sails until I am more comfortable handling on my own. Looking to do some day sales during this week with family.

Sailing Instructors

You may want to contact the sailing schools in the areas you are looking at. Last year was our first year with our 38 Ericson. We had taken classes at Newport Sail. There were many experienced teachers that were willing to teach on their off days. We ended up hiring a young Irish man who was visiting Newport for the summer season. He was thrilled to make extra money and we were happy to have a teacher on board as we gained experience and confidence.

Good Luck

I race Wednesday nights in the Newport Yacht Club races on a boat out of Jamestown harbor. I can probably do an afternoon/evening sail during that week, and possibly a full day sail on a weekend day. PM me with any questions if interested.

Hey Allan, your name is familar, but I cannot place you.

What is your current experience? If you need 'learn to sail' instruction, I would take an organized sailing class with one of the better-know schools. If you know how to sail (I know that is relative and subjective) and are just not familar with the boat and want one or two other guys on board who know what they are doing until you 'get comfortable' with the boat, then something more informal may be ok.

Is this a new/new boat, as some outfiting may be needed once commissioned.
