(Seattle area) Crew in need of boat :(

Hey there everyone this is probably a shot in the dark but we'll see. I'm a 22 m from Newport RI living in Seattle for the summer and need a boat to race/cruise on. I've got lots of small boat race experience mainly lasers 420's and j24's. I've spent the last couple of summers working on 12 meters doing the charter/race scene and want to stay on the water.

Any one in dire need of crew let me know!

Hey dp02840,

You might want to check out this website The Puget Sound Sailing Group (Seattle, WA) - Meetup.com. It is a meetup group for the Puget Sound Sailing Association which I belong to. It is a great group to be involved with. We have people who have an interest in sailing but have not boat to go out on along with other members who have boats. We put everyone together and arrange daysails, sunset sails, weekend sails, classses, and just social get togethers. Let me know if you have problems finding it. Hope to see you on the water!

Terry:

Are you looking primarily to race or daysail?

Where in the Seattle area are you located?

I'm in belltown and have a car, I'm looking to be on the water, I'd really like to get into some of the race series but would never turn down a cruise.

Go PM artbyjody. He'll take care of you, I imagine. His boat is much more interesting than mine...

And, he's at Elliott Bay marina, which is pretty close to you...

BTW, OP - did sail with us last Thursday night. Awesome guy - put alot of excitement into the boat. All around decent guy and puts energy into everything he does. Look forward to having him again as crew on the upcoming Thursday night races, or just to hangout. Highly recommend - as I know sometimes meeting people on forums and stuff can be a hit and miss at times..

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.
