Never sailed. Going to Europe?

I have no experience sailing but want to learn as much as I can. I am looking to go to europe as I will be starting college in Switzerland in the fall. I could get a ticket and fly there but I think sailiing would be much more fun. I have spent 4 years in the US Air force and Hve spent the past year climbing in various spots in the US. If you think I''m crazy please take pitty and least let me know how I should go about this as I really am serious. Otherwise e-mail me if you could use a hand. Thank you.

Never sailed and want to cross an ocean???? You would be wise to sail a shorter trip first. While in the Bahamas on a large sailboat diving trip we hit a gale and most people were sick I mean unable to get out of bed except to puke!!!!
Off Corpus Christi with on a friend''s sailboat He and I had wide grins but his girlfriend and my son were puking almost before we cleared the jetty. We hoped they would feel better but after an hour or so we reluctantly went back to dock. Something about Candy looking green with snot running down her nose convinced Jim to head in.
