Looking to crew, race or cruise

I am looking at getting into some distance races or cruises over the next year. If you need a helping hand on the US eastern coast let me know. I can provide my own way and fuel (duramax baby! ), you are to provide the housing and provisions.

I am located in Georgia.

25 year old male
5' 9" - 185 lbs.
Finance degree from KSU
very capable and intelligent sailor/mechanic

owned: J/24 (raced), Hobie 18, Coronado 25, Tanzer 22, and Creekmore 36.

tommays will become famous soon enough
Your going to do best working into soemthing local as no matter how nice or good you are for the most part it takes time for a boat crew to gel.

If a dirty bottom slows you down what do you think it does to your boat

local for me is still an hour and 1/2 away. I mostly want to get some blue water under my belt. I own a race boat J/24 "locally", I just want to get out of a lake without having to drag my boat to the coast.

Then look to the clubs that are near the saltwater within your driving distance and there will be crew wanted listings BUT just like on your boat it will take time

Theres just no need for most owners to house and feed crew when we sail to a big event and need housing we all split the land based costs up which at a race week could be 1000 each

Sailing south...

Hi,
I read your post about wishing to do some blue water cruising. My name is Perry, I'm 27 with a Business degree and just finished 4.5 years in the Navy. I have a Cape Dory 31. I'm in Charleston, SC and am planning to set sail on February 14th. I'm still deciding on the first stop, but ultimately, this is a cruise through the Bahamas and on down the Caribbean, one way.
Let me know if this interests you at all.
