To the best of my knowledge Pasha does not carry passengers, and I know Matson does not. There may be other options, on occasion, but freighters charge for passengers, no free rides. You can also go princess or the like, cheapest fair for those guys leaving out of LA is like 1500 bucks as I recall. if you have the time sure beats flying

Ditto the others. On a voyage like that on a small sailboat the rest of the crew is putting their safety in your hands when you're on watch. I'm dreaming of making that voyage too someday, but first I want to know from experience what to expect, and know that I can handle it.
