SC to Caribbean Cruise

My boyfriend and I bought our 40' sailboat last april and have spent the past year refitting it. We recently installed a new engine, all new rigging, new interior, and much more. I am from South Carolina, which is where we are currently, but we are looking to head back to Charlie's home port of Nevis, a small island in the West Indies. We are looking for someone with sailing experiance who is not in a tremendous hurry.

please describe what is meant by "not in a tremendous hurry"? What is the timeframe you are looking to do? I did Beauford to San Juan in 12 days in Nov with horrible seas. You looking to go straight to PR then Island jump or go down the east coast and then do the thorny route?

You know what the first rule of sailing is? ...Love. You can learn all the math in the 'verse, but you take
a boat to the sea you don't love, she'll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds. Love keeps
her going when she oughta fall down, tells you she's hurting 'fore she keens. Makes her a home.

Send a message via Skype™ to Capttman
what make of boat do you have, how is it equipped and how many offshore passages have you done. Do you want to go direct or island hop?

What these guys are all saying is that you should post more detail to allow respondants to feel comfortable with you and the boat. Also most people have time restrictions (jobs, families, travel). You might use different crew for legs of an extended trip. You can find crew here, I did. Good luck with it all.

Sorry bout that... More info.

Charlie and I own a 39' ketch rigged Corbin. We bought the boat last April and have done many upgrades including installing a brand new engine. Regarding offshore experiance, we are pretty limited. We bought the boat on the west coat of Florida and sailed it from there to the Keys to the Bahamas then up to South Carolina where we are currently. Our planned route to the Caribbean is just going straight out east about 500-700 miles then sailing southwest to the west indies catching the tradewinds we are estimating it to be about a two week trip. We will provide as much as we can inluding a return ticket home.
