Crew wanted Westerly,Ct to Manhattan

I just purchased a 1987 O'Day 27 LE. The boat is located in Westerly, CT and I am looking for 2 people to sail it to the 79th Street Boat Basin in Manhattan. If you can sail only part of the trip that's fine. I have sailed small boats, and crewed on two coastal trips. I am looking for experienced sailors who would help plan the route and lead the trip. I am 53 years old and easygoing. No smoking or drugs. I'll provide the food. You just show up at the boat or we can drive together. This will be a learning experience for me so I'm looking for easy going people as well. I'd like to leave sometime in the beginning of May.

If you're still looking...

I grew up sailing the NC coast on a Pearson 36, and am looking for an opportunity to remind my brain what my hands probably remember how to do sailing a boat. I can't necessarily help you plan, but I do know my way around a chart, and I am 28, strong, and a pretty good carpenter and electrician, and I live in Brooklyn, so I can get myself out to CT fairly easily.

SO, if you're interested, either reply here or private message me.

I have done that trip many times but not since 1985. I sailed a C&C 29 from to Long Island and back to Shattemuc YC in Ossining (then my home port) many times. The only advice I would give is to make sure you come down the East River at the end of the Ebb since it will be slow going at best if you try to fight the Flood. The Hudson will still Ebb for more than hour after you reach the Battery so you will have to fight the current in the Hudson for a while before you can make headway up the Hudson.

You didn't mention the date when you wish to accomplish this trip. Maybe this is too late
