Looking to crew to gain experience on a < 3 week trip

I'm from central Illinois and I have just completed an ASA 103 (basic coastal cruising) sailing class. I'm 22 years old and I usually catch on to things fairly quickly. Except for learning the names of everything, I found it fairly easy. They don't want me to take the 104 sailing class until I have first logged some hours at sea for practice.

I'm looking for some crew opportunity preferably somewhere close like Lake Michigan. I know the season is nearing its end up here but hopefully there are still some opportunities. If there is a crew position along the coast I may be able to travel there, but it depends on the situation.

There seems to be a fair amount of people here looking for crew for long trips across the ocean. That sounds great but I'm not ready for that quite yet!

My email is alex nomad.ignorelist.com (remove the " ")

Thanks for reading!
