I''''m looking for a crewing opportunity
I am looking for an opportunity to crew/liveaboard a sailing vessel for a
moderate period of time, say, 2 to 4 weeks, although I can go for longer if necessary. I''m avaiable in September, October and November 2003. I live in Atlanta, so getting to the Atlantic or Gulf coast would be a snap.
I think I''m pretty open minded and can probably adjust to any reasonable
circumstances. One of my primary concerns is to do some offshore sailing. I would be most interested in opportunities to
live and work aboard a sailing vessel in the 37 to 43 foot range.
I have completed an ASA basic keelboat certification course. I owned and sailed on a regular basis a 28'' ODay for 2 years (2000-2002). Therefore I know the a fair amount about sailboats, I can sail and I''m comfortable on deck. I know the importance of keeping an orderly, clean and well maintained vessel.
I can cook - I have several years of professional culinary training and experience, what''s more than this, though, is that I know how to cook on a boat.
I have a 4 year college degree. I most recently worked as a network engineer
for a telecom hardware vendor. I''m not doing that anymore. I''ll be 43 years old in October; I''m physically fit and not overweight. I''ve been married now for 4 years (I think my wife thinks I''m nuts for wanting to do this). I don''t drink to excess; I don''t smoke. I absolutely have the means to pay my own way.
Thanks for taking time to read this email. I''ll happily field any reasonable questions.
Regards,
Louis Dehner
